  • Yesterday (released in 2004) ~ movie about a women in South Africa who learns what the stigma of HIV/AIDS as she cares for her husband and herself. This is a movie that shows the stigma's of AIDS and the challenges women face.
  • Beat the Drum ~ movie which shows the challenges of AIDS through the eyes of a young boy in South Africa who is orphaned.
  • Miss HIV (website: http://www.misshiv.com/) ~ documentary which shows tackles the problems of stigma and prevention models and methods.
  • Angels in the Dust ~ true story of a young women and her family as they seek to care for orphans of the AIDS pandemic in South Africa

Child Soldier Resources

According to UNICEF, there are 250,000 children forced to be child soldiers, some as young as 7 years of age.

  • Innocent Voices ~ a true story of a young boy, age 11, who is caught in the middle of the El Salvador Civil War. This movie highlights the horrors of war as children are forced to serve in the goverment army.
